The Tires

The RM85 that Jake races is a 2002 K2 model. We have changed out the stock wheels for a set of 12" Excell's  with a set of Avon tires. The Avon's compound was to hard and had no traction in the hard turns so we tried a set of the Dunlop TT91 tires. These worked well but still lacked the grip needed. At this time we have a set of Bridgestone 601's on the 85 and so far they are the best tires we have put on it. They are worn out so our plans are to try a set of the SAVA tires next. Well the results are in and the SAVA tires are the best so far. Not only do they stick better than the rest they appear to be a longer lasting tire.

The Suspension

We have done very little to the stock suspension on the 85. We changed the fork oil out and put 30 wt. fork oil in them. We also over filled them by 1/2 an ounce. The rear is still just like it was when we got the bike.

The Handlebars

We replaced the stock bars with a set of the Pro Taper CR High Bend bars. The clutch perch was replaced with the Honda CR perch because it sticks out a little further from the bars and makes it a little easier to flip when shifting.

The Exhaust

We replaced the stock pipe wit a Pro Circuit that gives better power across the RPM range. It does not peak real fast and drop off like most of them do. It gives a constant climb from bottom end to top end.

The Graphics

We have replaced the graphics for the last half of the 07 season. These did not turn out the way we planed but will have to do for now.

I had to go ahead and order new graphics for this one. I hated to spend the money that could have been better spent on other things but this was just to much to put up with.
